OSHA Essentials - Forklifter Operations & Safety

Forklifts are some of the most widely used industrial vehicles worldwide. However, forklift-related accidents and incidents are common in industrial settings. There are numerous causes of these accidents, and one of the best ways to learn about and prevent them is by abiding by OSHA's rules and regulations related to forklifts. With this course, you can learn about some essential guidelines and train forklift operators accordingly.

Worldwide, industries use various tools and vehicles to augment their operations. In this regard, one of the most widely recognized vehicles is the forklift truck. It plays numerous essential roles in different industries, and one of its most common roles is to carry heavy loads across workplaces, such as warehouses. Forklifts are also used in other critical activities, such as construction.
Although the importance of forklifts is evident, a higher prevalence of accidents is also associated with the industrial use of these vehicles. In this regard, one of the most widely cited causes of these accidents is a lack of training of the forklift operators (or forklifters) and the implementation of proper safety measures by the workplace. Industries can consult OSHA (the US Occupational Health and Safety Agency) to overcome these shortcomings. As a result of accidents, injuries and even fatalities, it has enacted different rules and regulations concerning forklift safety and employee training.
With this course, you can prepare yourself as a workplace supervisor and ensure the protection of your forklift drivers. It contains various tables, graphics, and illustrations to familiarize you with how forklifts are designed, along with their classifications, types, and applications. The second module of this course contains topics that will allow you to develop a concise training curriculum for your forklift operators. With this module, you can explain the forklift's stability triangle, the factors that control it, and the different OSHA designations of forklifts.
